Cold shoulder dress + my new favorite heels

I've been a bit MIA. It's June 12, and this is my first post the of the month. Sometimes you need a break because life has gotten a little crazy and you lose your creative touch and drive, and that happened to me recently. I had to sit back and remind myself that this feeling is normal no matter what aspect of my life it touches, and I felt the need to let go and decompress for a bit. And that's okay.

BUT, I am back with one of my favorite looks for summer, and I am so happy this little number is still in stock since I dragged my feet on getting this styled and photographed.

It's no secret that I am in love with the cold- and off-the-shoulder trends, and this shift dress did not disappoint. I'm trying to expand my LBD selection, and this was an easy buy. It's only $39, and it comes in two colors—black and cream. It fits very nicely, and the flowy sleeves give it a bit of flair. It's the perfect dress for an evening summer wedding, and you can even dress it down with sandals for a daytime outfit.

Now, let's talk about these shoes. First of all, they are 55 percent off right now, making them $40! $40! I purchased these during the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale, and I do not regret that decision for a second. I bought them hoping they would be comfortable enough to wear to work, too, and after wearing them a few times, I think I'll be able to last all day in them. I love the black/brown-ish combination with the faux snake skin to give it a pop of a little something extra. The heel is the perfect height, and the soles are super comfortable. Plus, they come in two colors, so if you're not feeling the black, there's a brown suede version, as well. If you're wondering about size, I'd say they're true to size. I typically wear a 7, and that's what I got in these and they fit perfectly.
